The
Most Successful
Person In The Cemetery All of the money in the world won't bring you back if you destroy your health. A lot of us neglect our health. We focus so much on money and relationships, forgetting that health is more important than both of those things put together. We only get one body and it has to last us for the rest of our lives. We need to learn how to take care of it so that it works for us, and not against us. What’s the point of being successful if you aren't healthy? What’s the point in being the most successful person in the cemetery? When you are healthy, you look good, and you feel great. Want more attention from the opposite sex? Want to live longer? Want to feel great every day? You’ve got to work on your health first. Maintaining good health If you want to look good, feel great and live a long and healthy life, you need to bepracticing some (if not most/all) of the below suggestions: Consume a healthy diet – Start eating more fruits and vegetables as a start. Most people don’t seem to eat enough (I used to be exactly the same). Substitute fruits and vegetables for other foods that are high in sugar and fat. The food pyramid is a good general guide as to what you should be eating on a regular basis. Exercise – 30 minutes of exercise most days will do you the world of good e.g. fast paced walking. Limit stress – One of the best defenses against cancer, disease, and illness, is to be happy. Stress can make even the healthiest of people become ill. Stress increases blood pressure and weakens your immune system. Put some time aside each day to relax and have some fun. Drink more water – Most of us don’t drink enough water. Here is a quick an easy solution; each time you have a meal (e.g. breakfast, lunch or dinner), drink at least 2 glasses or 500mls of water. Then all you need is an additional 2 glasses during the day, in between meals, and you get the recommended 2 litres of water each day. Make a habit of carrying a water bottle around with you, especially when you are at work. Limit alcohol – “Why don’t you ever drink Michael”, my friend Ben would often ask me. My reply was usually, "why should I drink? I don’t like the way alcohol tastes, its expensive, it makes me feel ill, and besides, I have lots of confidence and a great personality without it. I don’t need alcohol". Try to limit your consumption of alcohol, and if possible, limit it to only special occasions e.g. Christmas, New Years Eve, etc Liver destruction, brain damage, an empty wallet, and obesity, are high prices to pay for drinking alcohol. Get a good night sleep – When we sleep, that’s the time our body heals and recharges its batteries. Lack of sleep leaves us feeling weak, lethargic and lazy. Want to increase your life span? Want a healthier immune system? Want to look good and feel great? Aim to get at least 8 hours of sleep each night. Don’t smoke – Save your money and your health at the same time. Choose not to smoke. Paying money to get yellow teeth, bad breath, and possibly lung cancer doesn’t make much sense does it? Get checked by a doctor – Visit your doctor and get your health checked out every once in a while. Don't ever be stubborn when your health is on the line, you can't afford to.
